Mobex help deliver great results for ScotRail’s winter travel campaign
Mobex are delighted at the results of ScotRail’s campaign with over 333,000 people seeing the trailers and staff speaking to more than 84,000 commuters who stopped at roadshows held at 16 different locations throughout Scotland in November over the four-week campaign. The aim of the campaign was to inform commuters of the improvements ScotRail have made to its services and to tell them of the activities they had undertaken to minimise disruption in harsh winter weather. Offering 10 options to stay informed about travel conditions, visitors to the event trailers were also encouraged to sign up to receive travel alerts. More than 3,600 people registered for JourneyAlert and thousands joined Twitter or downloaded the new smartphone winter travel app.
Hire and higher for McCarthy & Stone sales enquiries with new exhibition trailer
Mobex are helping another client to effectively reach new customers after manufacturing and delivering a mobile exhibition trailer to McCarthy & Stone. The retirement apartment specialists approached Mobex recently to help them target potential customers at the Bournemouth Air Show and the hire of the exhibition trailer hire the event proved so successful, McCarthy & Stone commissioned Mobex to build an exhibition trailer for them to use exclusively. The branded exhibition trailer will be having its debut outing on 30 November at the Haskins Retail Centre in Shepton Mallet, where staff will be providing information on a new 42-apartment site being developed in the Somerset town. McCarthy & Stone spokesperson Sam Thomas said “We found Mobex to be extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process, a real two-way partnership.” Mobex will be continuing to assist McCarthy & Stone with their event management by storing and providing a full delivery and set-up service of the trailer for future events.

Mobex builds the UK’s first mobile pinhole camera
Mobex has built a unique mobile pinhole camera called a Phenomera. The trailer has a multi-functional aspect as both a pinhole camera, so that people can study both the art and science of capturing an image, and as a laboratory and dark room, where they can learn how to make light sensitive emulsions, experiment with refraction, optics and Goethe's colour theory.
Mobex were given the brief to build this unique piece of kit by Alasdair Gordon of Igniting Flames and Mobex used the latest construction techniques and materials, as well as their many years’ experience to help transform Alasdair’s vision into reality. The Phenomera has already been in action at the Steiner School in Bristol engaging and teaching students all about the art and science of taking photographs. Engaging with your audience and customers is something that Mobex prides itself on helping its clients achieve every time - call us today to find out how we can help you reach the people you need to.

The main objective of the roadshow is to let people know that there are NHS dentists avaible and how they can find one.
National Trust Mobile Retail Trailer
Mobex won the contract to design and deliver a new concept in mobile retailing. This versatile trailer can split into 10, 20 or 30mtrs of selling space; it is fully mobile and is now in its first location on the lovely Knoll beach in the Studland peninsula. The trailer will then be moving up to the Lake District. This is the first of a line of trailers we will be building for the National Trust.
Simon Bird – Head of Retail Operations says “ We have over 400 properties and currently not all are serviced by retail outlets, we needed a way we could service consumer demand not only for our products but for information on events and other properties, we came up with the concept of a mobile retail outlet."
Mobex wins contract to design and build trailers for The National Trust
To be unveiled in November, the new concepts pop up retail trailer for The National Trust. Simon Bird - Head of Retail Operations for The National Trust says "We have over 400 properties and currently not all are serviced by retail outlets, we needed a way we could service consumer demand not only for our products but for information on events and other properties, we came up with the concept of a mobile retail outlet. We looked for companies with the experience and flair to produce designs for us and at a cost to meet our budget. We chose Mobex as our approved supplier as they met all our criteria and came up with a design to give us 3 options on retail space within the one mobile unit. We are looking forward with excitement to its delivery and believe this will be a major asset in servicing customer needs"
Do you exhibit indoors?
Mobex can take trailers inside just about every venue. We have had them on the 2nd floor of Earls Court, in ExCel, the Manchester Central, SEC and so on.
It makes sense to consider taking a trailer inside as all you need to to is book your space and 1 electric socket. No more large stand builds which are only usable for the event, no extras for chairs, tables, carpets etc. Saves your budget and makes an impact.
Public Sector Newsround
A busy time within the public sector, budget cuts reign supreme and yet they still have a job to do. Mobex has helped lots of organisations deliver targeted, measurable and effective public campaigns.

NHS Berkshire have just completed a roadshow on ‘continence’
Mobex is in demand over the next 6 months for various public consultations ranging from property. Nuclear power stations to local health issues.
We have many plans in place for people doing winter warmer roadshows and community service roadshows through to March next year.

Agrifac choose Mobex to look after their events
Cereals is the leading technical event for the arable industry.
Agrifac has attended the show for the last 5 years. They needed a trailer capable of giving them a strong brand presence and would attract new customers to talk to them.
This year they chose Mobex to provide a trailer to guarantee them a professional solution to engage with both new and existing customers.
Andy Carse, Sales Manager for Agrifac told us:
“I have personally attended this show for the last four years, in the past we have had trailers which were old and did not always look professional. After looking at the Mobex website and speaking with Allan I could see that Mobex were more professional and would give our company a better image whilst at the show.
Mobex staff were on hand to sort out all of the attention to detail. Their staff came over to us on a number of occasions and moved our trailer around to get us in the best spot, they even cut the grass around us. Everything was set up and laid out, all I had to do was turn up and work.
I was very pleased with the trailer and the service. Our next big show is Lamma in January; I have already booked with Mobex for this event and will be using them in the future. I can relax when using Mobex. An important thing when you have to work these shows”.
New trailer for Scotmin
Since the company opened an office in Scotland at the start of 2010, Scotmin Nutrition, one of the UK’s largest animal feeds companies based in Ayr, has taken delivery of a new exhibition trailer designed and built by Mobex.
The Mobile Experience Company Limited
Mobex announce the formation of "The Mobile Experience Company Limited". Taking products and services to the market by interacting with the public. The most recent road show has been to record video feedback from patients in the NHS about Privacy, Dignity and Respect. Over 1500 interviews took place in 30 days outside hospitals and in town centres.
Mobex - For exhibitions and roadshows that deliver
In these days of ‘Slash and Burn' of marketing budgets in efforts to save money, those in marketing and selling for their business know they have to:
- Achieve more from their marketing spend
- Maintain and improve their events to increase awareness and win sales
Businesses know when they need to plan and deliver events involving talking to, consulting with, raising awareness or selling, the company they turn to for a comprehensive, expert service is Mobex.
Mobex has delivered real value for money for their clients in this tight economic climate. Working with them to change, adapt, improve and think differently about how they deliver what their business needs.
Here's what the Department of Health says about Mobex:
The Department attended Primary Care Live exhibitions 2009, held in Manchester Central and London ExCel, their budget for the exhibition stand and build had been halved. Following the success of the roadshow Mobex had delivered for the NHS, which ran up and down the England earlier in the year, the Department of Health turned to Mobex to provide a cost-effective presentation to help them put across their message.
Mobex provided a trailer with large-screen TV, direct internet access and space to enable the team to engage with healthcare staff - far more cost-effective than having a full exhibition stand built.
Damon Rutherford, Choice Communications Manager, comments: "The outcome was a highly professional-looking stand which by its very nature stood out from the rest, with the bonus that it gave us a significant reduction on traditional stand design and build costs. They gave us a complete exhibition service and saved me a lot of time and money."
Mobex has more than 30 years' experience in the hire, manufacture, design and management of exhibition trailers and indoor stands. It has probably the largest trailer stock in the UK and is the only British company to design and build both mobile units and internal stands.
Since the company opened an office in Scotland at the start of 2010, Scotmin Nutrition, one of the UK's largest animal feeds companies based in Ayr, has taken delivery of a new exhibition trailer designed and built by Mobex.
Douglas Watson, Scotmin's Sales Manager, said: "We chose Mobex on the basis of value for money and good communication. We felt that with Mobex we would be in good hands"
"We were impressed by their experience and attention to detail"
Mobex clients include a wide range of businesses from SMEs to multinationals.
Many public-sector organisations, from the NHS to local authorities, rely on Mobex for their exhibition trailers and stands.
The company has supplied units for more than 20,000 events to date, including almost 1000 in 2009 alone. It offers trailers from a 4-metre unit for a roadshow or presentation right up to a lavish 12-metre hospitality unit.
Mobex is a pioneer in the fast-growing field of experiential marketing, where potential customers are given the chance to see, touch, feel, taste or even hear the product or service on offer, from cars to chocolate. A new experiential trailer incorporates a 96" video screen and video booth, allowing audience reaction to be recorded and played back on the stand.
"You can have as comprehensive or as specific a service as you like - we can supply anything from a single trailer to a complete internal stand design and build" says Allan Plant, Mobex' Managing Director. "What our clients really value is that ours is a full service, from building the trailer to pouring the tea. We've earned a reputation for being quick and efficient and giving good value for money. We can often reduce a client's spend dramatically by offering a solution they hadn't thought of."
Mobex at Showman's Show
Mobex appeared at the Showman’s show in October this year where they showed a new 6 metre designed hospitality unit, a 96" video booth trailer and the exceptionally versatile Kneeling design which will be incorporated into two new trailers in 2010.
Mobex opens Scottish Office
Mobex has now opened its new depot in East Kilbride, Scotland. Although Mobex trailers are based in Gloucestershire, there has been an increasing number of events that need to be covered in the North of England and Scotland. This inevitably means increased prices for the clients as transport is a considerable part of the cost towards providing a trailer. Despite these extra costs Mobex’s clients have asked us (rather than closer competitors) to provide the services further afield and Mobex have therefore based some units in Southern Scotland to service these markets. Scottish Office: East Kilbride 01355 263431
Mobex moves to new offices
The expansion of services and trailers over the last few months has required the need for more offices at our Berkeley depot. With the release of some neighbouring land, there was an ideal opportunity to create a new working environment for the administration and design functions. The modular constructed unit will provide space for a further five staff and a new visiting area and some meeting rooms. This will be accompanied by more phone lines, higher speed internet access and bespoke software especially for the hire of exhibition units and services.
Already taking bookings for SED and Hillhead
The event industry has suffered during 2008-2009 with many events being cancelled and all others having fewer exhibitors.
However things seem to be picking up as we are receiving bookings for the SED and Hillhead (and all other) shows not only from existing clients but new ones as well. For more news on these events please click on the links below.

More Inside Venues Booked
With the introduction of exhibition trailers into venues such as Earls Court, there has been a sudden influx of requests. So much so that Mobex are designing special units that are lighter, more flexible in display options and even ones that do not even look like a trailer, when they are set up. These will be available by the 2010 season along with other new trailers in 5 & 6 metre lengths.
Kneeling Trailer has unexpected new use
The kneeling chassis design first shown at The Showman’s Show caused a stir, but one unexpected requirement was as a transportable stage. What would be better than to pack a marquee and its accessories on the floor of the trailer, drive it to the venue unpack it and set up the marquee around it, then retract the tow bar and lower the bed so it looks just like a stage for the disco or band or even the top table to use.
